I did my Registered Nurse and Midwifery training in Ireland and immigrated with my husband and young son to Westmead Hospital in Sydney in 1988 where I worked in roles such as, a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nursing Unit Manager and a Clinical Nurse Consultant in Respiratory Medicine until we moved to Taree in 1991 along with our family of three . We moved to the Manning Valley to take advantage of the country environment and lifestyle.
Over the years I have completed many Health and Aged Care related courses including a Bachelor of Health Management at Charles Sturt University Bathurst. I completed this whilst working full time as a Director of Care and helping my husband raise three great children so you could say , the pursuit of learning has always been part and parcel of my life.
In 2020 after retiring from a very busy and Award winning 29 year career in Aged Care with a local Community based organization I felt I wanted to give something back to my 44 years in Nursing by sharing my passion for the profession and what better way to do that, then helping people achieve their dream of becoming an Aged Care Nurse.
I love the local area, it has a slower pace and one that I can now make the most of with my family and grandchildren. Pre COVID I had plans to take on some hobbies such a dragon boat racing , and I intend to give it a go as soon as were allowed to do so.
